Hello, all.

We get a lot of feedback - some of it constructive, some of it complimentary, and some of it unfit to print - on the Weekly US Aesthetic Device Leaderboard.  That's been expected.

Here is why we have it and how it's calculated: 

• The weekly leaderboard tracks interest in devices and treatments that's relevant to the MedSpa and dermatology communities. This is the beauty industry; trends and 'hot' treatments matter commercially in terms of what services are offered.  It's best to view it as directional. One important point is that we don't strip out the effect of marketing. This means that's a robust marketing campaign should impact the position and trend of a specific device. 
• We're (obviously) not going to share the specifics of the calculation itself. This is proprietary market intelligence. What we can mention is that we use a combination of different sources for the ranking and normalize these for scoring. Several of the AeonEx leadership team have experience as financial quants, so these statistical techniques are familiar to us.  The sources include google search data, social signals and RealSelf.  The calculation is objective and we do not bias the findings towards any devices on AeonEx. Much like our AI, objective judgment is really important to AeonEx. We are your source of truth for industry information.
